Gorse Covert hosts ‘Lets Girls Play’ session and welcomes MP | Warrington Guardian
A SCHOOL has been praised for its ‘Let Girls Play’ session following a visit from an MP.
Last week, Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols visited Gorse Covert Primary School.
Ms Nichols joined pupils for a ‘Let Girls Play’ football session which consisted of children of all ages engaging in a variety of sports activities.
The MP was accompanied by Gorse Covert’s house captains who ‘showcased the school’s commitment to inclusivity in sports’. They also asked thoughtful and engaging questions during the MP’s visit.
Older pupils at the school have also been given a special mention as they took on coaching roles and guided and supported the younger children throughout the sessions.
The event was described as a ‘great success’.
Staff at Gorse Covert said: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to MP Charlotte Nichols for joining us and for her ongoing support of our community initiatives.”
