MP visits Warrington advice hub supporting residents

Charlotte Nichols, MP for Warrington North, visited the Talking Points hub in Warrington town centre last week. The service offers friendly advice and guidance across a range of issues including housing, the cost of living, employment, transport and so much more. The team will always welcome you with a hot drink, listen to any problems you may be having and give you the advice you need.

Although Talking Points’ main hub is based at the Living Well Hub in Warrington town centre, they have pop up sessions across the Warrington area in local community buildings. There are currently weekly sessions at Fearnhead Community Centre (Mondays, 11am-12.30pm), Culcheth Library (Tuesdays, 2-4pm), Birchwood Shopping Centre (Wednesdays, 1-3pm) and the Orford Jubilee Hub (Thursdays, 10am-12pm). All these locations are easily accessible by public transport, and more information on how to get there can be found on the Living Well Warrington website. No appointment is needed to attend any of their sessions, just drop in with any problems you have.

They have recently undertaken a marketing campaign to help spread the word about the work they do and the support they can offer. This has included ensuring that their advertisements and leaflets are accessible to people with learning disabilities, as well as making sure it is available in different languages to better reflect local communities. The programme is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care’s Public Health Grant to help people get support at a community level as part of a preventative approach.

Charlotte Nichols, MP for Warrington North, said:

“It was great to visit Talking Points in Warrington to have a brew with them and hear more about the amazing work they are doing. It can be difficult to know who to turn to if you need advice, but that is why Talking Points’ role is so important as they make sure people get the support they need. It was great to hear them talking about some of their recent successes and I look forward to helping them spread the word so that more people know about the services they offer.”

“The team are so approachable and welcoming, it’s definitely worth popping in for a chat and a brew with them. There are no frustrating AI chatbots, just a friendly real-life person there to support you. They’re willing to help across a range of issues, and they’ll always try to find a solution or point you in the right direction.”
